Opening night for Sunsets in the Park is next Friday, June 5th. This will be an awesome way to experience the gardens. It's a beautiful location to enjoy live music. We are rarely open to the Public in the evenings and it is a magical time to be out here. Our performers for June 5th are Lost Immigrants, Jimmy Baldwin and Los Vaqueros Electricos and Salim Nourallah.
Performances start at 6:00 pm with gates opening at 4:30 pm. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $12.00 on Clark Gardens website. Click on Pay Pal or call the gardens at 940.682.4856. Food vendors and cash bar on site or bring a picnic if you prefer. Rain or Shine. Thursday, May 28, 2009 FOR THE BIRDS....
Margaret Malson, garden member and frequent visitor was in the garden this morning and took some great shots of the birds. Lucky Margaret she found the peacock in the garden and not on the old junker of a truck. I especially love the one of the swan...it's the Clark Garden version of an ostrich with it's head in the sand, instead it's a swan with it's head in the water. I've wanted to do the same thing. Clark Gardens works to provide an environment for our wildlife. This year Lee Ann Nave, Director of Horticulture at Clark Gardens, has planted three areas, one for butterflies, one for hummingbirds and one for bees. full Friday, May 8, 2009 HEALTH AND HARMONY DAY IN THE PARK
On May 16th Clark Gardens teamed up with Palo Pinto General Hospital to host a day of Health and Harmony. Celebrating the tenth annual National Women's Health week the day was suppose to kick off with a 5 K walk. The Gods had another idea so we started with a much needed rain. Not to be deterred though we adjusted the schedule and had a great day. Thanks to all the speakers.
