Clark Gardens is excited to announce our first Backpack Biology. JoAnn Collins, an avid outdoor educator, has written TEKS based lesson plans on Tree Systems for students K-5th Grade. The lesson plans include pre and post visit activities and of course a trip to the Gardens to discover our amazing Historical Tree Trail. Included in the lesson plans are activities that integrate social studies, math, and language arts.
Teachers and educators are invited to a workshop introducing our Backpack Biology. Once teachers have attended the workshop they will be able to bring their students to the gardens, check out the backpack and have a fun, educational experience in the Garden.
Field trips are offered to students at no charge including Backpack Biology.
Our first teacher workshop will be offered on March 25 at 8:30 am. The workshop includes a tour of the Gardens, introduction to the lesson plans included in the Backpack Biology Tree Systems and lunch. The workshop is offered at NO COST to qualified educators and teachers and is limited to the first 20 applicants.
